Maple Ridge requires a Home Improvement Building Permit for structures over 10 m², and construction cannot start until the permit is issued. The City is one of BC's 10 delegated municipalities, so it issues its own electrical permits, and natural gas permits within the province's pressure and load limits, rather than routing them through Technical Safety BC. Fees are split between a plan processing fee at application and the permit fee at issuance.
